| Comments: | We're having our 3rd "Cruise-In" to raise funds for the Ky. Ronald McDonald House. The Cruise-In will be on Friday, July 27th from 6:00 - 10:00pm @ the Catlettsburg, Ky. McDonalds located just off I-64 on US 23 North in Catlettsburg, Ky. At our first two events we have had approx. 50 vehicles, and have given away major door-prizes such as free tickets to Kings Island, Reds games, Major restuarant dinners,car supplies, and numerous other items. Tees & dash plaques have been given to the first 25 entrants, and as we have grown we have increased these free-bees. All the proceeds are going to be donated to the "R. McD House" at our event in August, which we hope will be tremendous. Donation fee is only $10.00 per vehicle. We hope to make this a yearly event that grows to become one of the major "events" not only in the state, but on a National level. I challenge all you "Cruisers" to come to our "event" and help us to help the "R. McD House" help the kids of Ky. Really hope "you" can attend!! The May 28th SomernitesCruise event was bigger and better than ever! We had 350 cars and 4000+ spectators in the downtown Somerset area! The longest distance traveled award went to a Saleen Mustang all the way from Marietta, Georgia! The weather looked ominous early in the day but, the rains stayed away and all on hand were treated to a absolutely beautiful sunset as the musclecars, street machines and classics continued to roll in right up till "cruise time" (thats 9PM).Ay 7PM we had a nice ceremony in thankful remembrance of veterans of all wars and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. | Comments: | Just a reminder...The SomerNitesCruise for May gets underway Saturday, May 26th in downtown Somerset, KY! Last month we had 300 cars from 5 states and 25+ cities in Kentucky. This month we hope to see 400+ street machines, street rods, antiques and custom cars and trucks on hand for what many have called "the best cruise-in in KY". We will start letting cars into the downtown area at 2PM(offical start time is 3PM)and at 7PM there will be a special 20-30 minute program to honor veterans on this Memorial Day weekend. At 9PM we will form a cruise parade and will be escorted by Somerset Police down "the strip" also known as HWY 27. After one complete circuit, the officer will return to his regular duties leaving the cruise to continue on its own. Please try to attend SomerNitesCruise and don't forget to tell a friend!!! |

Prior to retiring, I bought a 4 door, 1967 Plymouth Fury II with 50,XXX original miles on it. It's in my garage currently being restored. Hope to have it finished sometime next year so that I can start entering it in car shows again. I'd like to meet, or, talk to any other Mopar fans that are in the area as well as possibly join a local car club. |

There were cars there from Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana and all over Kentucky. A special THANKS for the great car club participation we had! After the show, there was some great cruising on "The Strip" also known as HWY 27, with alot of cruisers stopping into local restaurants for a bite to eat. OK, weve got a great start and now were going to build on that...the next SomerNitesCruise will be on MAY 26...again, we'll close off downtown Somerset and the cruise-in will start at 4PM. CORRECTION...I think in previous posts I mistakenly said that SomerNitesCruise would take place on the last Saturday of the month thru Oct....it should have read..4TH SATURDAY...thats 4TH SATURDAY of each month. Finally, if you you made it to the cruise-in on Saturday, again a very big THANKS! and if you didn't or are now interested...we'll see you Saturday May, 26 for the next SOMERNITESCRUISE! |

Shirley Cummins and I have the new page ready for all your beautiful pictures of all your projects coming out this year.
