Ann and Joe operated the barn dance for several years. Ann would say, "Welcome to Renfro Valley." Pete Stamper(Deceased) Pete Stamper was a mentor for me, and I owe him much for all his help and direction. Pete was master of ceremonies, Disc Jockey, comedian, stage manager for Dolly Parton for a time, worked the Sunday Morning Gathering for many years, and did hundreds of bookings across the country. Pete Currently works for the Renfro Valley Barn Dance and is morning DJ for WRVK Radio Station located on Red Foley Drive. Pete has written a book called, "It All Happened In Renfro Valley". 12. Adams Building, Mount Vernon - This is one of the earlier buildings located at the corner of Church Street and East Main Street in Mount Vernon, KY. Formerly, there was a skating rink in the basement. It is the site of the Cincinnati Bargain Store and clothing and dry goods store owned and operated by Harold C. & CLara Mae Jones. More recent was the operation of a floral shop in this building.
13. Covered Bridge in Rockcastle County - The covered bridge is located at Mullins Station, crosses over Roundstone Creek and is owned by a Powder Company. This bridge did not get listed in the history of Kentucky Covered Bridges by Vernon White, since it does not have wooden trusses. However, it remains today a landmark to Rockcastle County, KY.
